WEEKLY EVENTS: August 16 – August 22, 2013

You know the drill Denver.  Go do some of these stuffs before the temperature drops, it’s dark when you are headed to work, it’s dark when you are headed home, you become really pale, you gain 5-7 pounds, and you have an unhealthy relationship with Netflix.  BOOM.

Friday, August 16 & Saturday, August 17, 2013 @ midnight: Dazed and Confused at the Esquire Theater

In 1993 I smoked some shitty weed with a bunch of friends outside of my childhood elementary school and then we went to see Dazed and Confused at the Marple 10 Movie Theater in Springfield, PA.  In 1993, slightly stoned, I fucking loved this movie.  In 2013 I still love it.  Go smoke some weed (shitty or not) and catch one of the midnight screenings of this film at the Esquire.  Afterwards there’s gonna be a beer bust at the Moontower.  Everybody’s going to be there, you ought to go.

Party for free with Bit Funk this Sunday

Sunday, August 18, 2013 @ 5pm: Bit Funk at Bar Standard

The first time I saw Bit Funk was at the Larimer Lounge.  Although the night initially felt a little quiet (it was February), by the end of it, there was a full-on on-stage dance party surrounding this Brooklyn-based indie dance DJ.  Give a big middle finger to Monday and join this FREE rooftop party featuring Bit Funk, Option4, Danny Marin, Keepers, Need & Necessity, and Uncle Buck.  Fun is guaranteed.

Tuesday, August 20, 2013 @ 8pm: The Great Debate at Buntport Theater

The Great Debate pits teams of non-experts head-to-head, toe-to-toe, and often dumb-and-dumber in lively debates of the inconsequential. Mundane topics are brought to life by ordinary, but opinionated folks. You’re bound to be a flip-flopper after listening to compelling arguments on things that never mattered!  This month’s theme?  Sand vs. Witches vs. Sandwiches.  Box office opens at 7:30pm, the feud starts at 8:00pm.  $5 – $7, depending on your luck.
