The premise behind Mile High Sci Fi is that a really bad movie is shown and local comedians make fun of it, a la MST300.  The humor is clever and inappropriate, with some of the greatest audio gags I’ve ever heard [insert boner noise here].  Come check-out this weekend’s rendition of XXX!  9:30pm both nights; tickets run $10 – $12.

I am guessing this Super Bowl party will be pretty hilar.  Hosted by Magic Cyclops of American Idol fame, the game will be projected on a big screen, free shots will be served when the Broncos score, free schwag will be given out from PBR, and free barbecue will be provided from Yazoo’s BBQ Company.  Oh, and before and after the game, there will be some epic karaoke.

Sunday, February 2, 2014 @ 4:30pm: Super Bowl at the Sidewinder Tavern

And here’s yet another option to catch the game, in a less broed-out venue.  The Sidewinder Tavern will be showing the game on the big screen in their music hall.  Their kitchen will be open and orange and blue jello shots will be provided when the Broncos score a touchdown.  Should be a pretty fun crew.

Monday, February 3, 2014 @ 8pm: Text-A-Saurus at the Bug Theatre

After a holiday hiatus, T-Saur is back!  If you like to see creativity in its purest form, this show is for you.  Text-A-Saurus is a stand-up comedy show, where the audience texts in topics, which then the comedians turn into amazing stand-up comedy routines.  It’s the only crowd-sourced comedy show in town.  This month’s show includes: Kristin RandChris Charpentier, and Harrison Rains.  FREE.

Tuesday, February 4, 2014 @ 6 – 9pm: Tip & Tinker at Converge Denver

E-textiles is the exciting, inventive method of blending electronics with fashion and style.  In this workshop, participants will use this technology to make Colorado glow.  With the Colorado logo as a backdrop, participants will sew LEDs into a beanie hat to light-up their personal style.  Kick back with friends, enjoy some local brews or wine, and create something you’ll be proud to wear.  Workshop costs $30; register by February 2nd.

Enjoy classic horror flicks inside the bike-themed interior of Crash 45, along with movie-themed drink specials and fun souvenirs to take home!  All films start around 7:30pm, but come earlier for a seat and/or to order food.  This month’s film is Two Evil Eyes (1990) – Two horror stories based on the writings of Edgar Allan Poe directed by legendary filmmakers George Romero & Dario Argento.

You don’t have to be a vegan to enjoy this monthly community dinner at The Horse Barn.  You just have to like affordable, tasty food, and nice people.  For just a $8 – $10 donation, enjoy a heaping plate of delicious vegan food based on the chosen monthly theme (this month’s theme is Breakfast for Dinner.  YUM.)  This is by far one of my favorite events in town.    Note: the new location does not allow Chomp to sell alcohol, but feel free to BYOB.  Vegan mimos anyone?
