Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 7 – 9pm: Museum Quality Drinking at the MCA Denver
Tonight’s museum rooftop party includes live music from Joshua Novak with Claudine Rousseau, and some of the sweetest views in town. If you haven’t been to this rooftop yet, you seriously need to change that – NOW! It’s a summertime must. $5 admission.
Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 7 – 10pm: Fresh Jazz and Crisp Vinyl Series at the Dikeou Pop-Up: Colfax
The Dikeou Collection’s seventh installment of the Fresh Jazz and Crisp Vinyl Series will feature a very special performance by the John A. Díaz-Cortés & the Folklorika Arkestra. There will also be a DJ spinning rare & classic jazz records from the Collection’s extensive vinyl archive. Díaz-Cortés and his band will play at 8pm. This event is FREE and open to the public; light refreshments will be provided.
Friday, July 18, 2014, doors at 7pm, show at 8pm: Sexpot Comedy presents: High Plains Comedy Festival Preview at the Oriental Theater
The High Plains Comedy Festival is almost here and that means a special kick ass preview show at The Oriental for this month’s Sexpot Comedy show. Performers include Aparna Nancherla, Sean Patton, Ian Douglas Terry, and Ashley Barnhill. Andy Juett, Jim Hickox, and Jordan Doll will also be doing some stuffs to make you laugh. Tickets are just $10 – BOOM.
Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 8pm: The Narrators at Buntport Theater
Come on out for a special Friday night edition of The Narrators! If you haven’t been to this show before, it is pure gold. It’s essentially like This American Life unfolding right in front of your beautiful smiling face. One of the best things to do in Denver, hands down. This month, The Narrators have teamed up with Pivot TV and Rooftop Media to put together a show about “Taking a Stand”, which will be filmed by Pivot TV. Storytellers include Dessa, Jonny 5, Evan Weissman, Nancy Norton, and hosts Andrew Orvedahl and Robert Rutherford. (And if you haven’t heard, this will be this dynamic duo’s last show together before Robert shoves off for California-Land. So come get one…last…long…look…) There is a suggested donation of $3, but the memories are freesie.
Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 8pm: Vegan Drinks and Pizza at Bonnie Brae Tavern
Come on out for some tasty vegan cocktails/mocktails and an assortment of vegan pizzas at the family-owned Bonnie Brae Tavern. You do NOT have to drink alcohol, nor be a card-carrying vegan to attend. $10 for all you can eat, yo. This happens the third Friday of every month.
Friday, July 18, 2014 @ 9pm – 2am: Reeewind & Roll: Rockabilly Roll at the Exdo Event Center
Roll is a monthly-themed roller skating party in the EXDO Event Center, complete with skate rental, mind blowing sound and lights, and of course, sippycup drinks for one helluva party! Tonight’s theme is Rockabilly Roll, complete with a hair and make-up artist on-site. Free admission between 9 – 10pm, or $5 afterwards. This month also features karaoke in the lounge! This event is 21+.
Saturday, July 19 & Sunday, July 20, 2014: Orthodox Food Festival & Old Globeville Days at Argo Park
Come sample delicious homemade cuisine from Russia, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Eritrea, Greece, and Mexico. Then plan to stay to enjoy free live music and dance entertainment, craft and gift booths, art displays, children’s activities (FREE BOUNCY CASTLE), an iconography exhibit, and tours of the historical Orthodox church. There will also be a full-service bar. This event is FREE and is happening on Saturday from 11am – 9:30pm and on Sunday from 11am – 5pm.

Le Jardin Secret is not your average summer market. At this French-inspired chefs’ market, foodies can shop for dairy, meat, bread, produce and other goods – all with a mimosa in hand. Think perfect tomatoes, French cheeses, grassfed tenderloins, and artisanal bread. Free parking is available on the top levels of the Larimer Square Garage (14th and Market Streets) during market hours to the first 40 Le Jardin Secret customers. Customers must ask for a validation pass from the Mile High Business Alliance representative at the Le Jardin Secret welcome booth. FREE.

The Weathervane Cafe may very well be the cutest coffee shop you’ve ever visited. And this Saturday they will be teaming up with Whole Yoga & Sesen Skin Body Wellness to bring you the Cement Market. This pop-up market will feature health & wellness vendors, as well as curated vintage and handmade goods. Grab a latte or a lavender lemonade while you peruse the wares, and then plan on staying for lunch.
Saturday, July 19, 2014 @ 11am: Poses and Pints at Diebolt Brewing Company
For $15, enjoy a one-hour Vinyasa yoga class, followed by a fun social event fueled by Diebolt’s delicious brews, ping pong, and foosball. Come by yourself or bring a few friends!
