WEEKLY EVENTS: November 21, 2014 – November 27, 2014
Denver. There are weekends when it seems like not much is going on, and then there are weekends when you want to take a bunch of meth just to try to do it all (totally kidding about the meth), but this weekend is a meth weekend. There is lots to do, lots to do. Peep the list of stuffs below and if you need a break, head on over to The Starz Denver Film Festival to unplug for a bit and see something surprising.
(And as per youzh, check-out Westword’s 10 things to do for $10 in Denver blog for free/low-cost events this weekend, which includes Cowtown Comics Fest 2014 and Thanksgiving Market at Broken Shovels Farm.)

Last year’s Reel Social Club‘s home invasion-themed film festival bash was literally one of the best events I have ever attended in Denver. And this year looks just as promising: free drinks, bites, DJs, dancing, hott filmmakers, Oh Heck Yeah interactive games, and old-school arcade games rounds out what is sure to be an epic night. And if you attend the preceding screening of I Am a Knife With Legs, you’ll have something to blah blah blah about with everyone else. DO IT. Tickets start at $25; the memories are free.
Voted Best of Westword, the Sugar Plum Bazaar takes place in the heart of Denver at the McNichols Building. Here you will find a special treasure for everyone on your list…maybe even yourself. There will be lots of great interactive stations to check out and even snacks to keep the good times rolling. The continuous stations include green screen videos that you’ll make and post on Vine, a game that illustrates the complexities and pitfalls of the worldwide web, a looped screening of the film Warriors of the Net, and a traceroute activity that shows just how far-flung the net can be. I’ve been hearing some real good things about this event. Weird Touch is a new all-vinyl dance party collaboration between renowned DJs Tyler Snow, Fancy Matthew, and Shannon von Kelly. “Over the last year, we’ve been testing the waters of Denver’s dance appetite. Apparently, what’s turning us on musically is what’s turning on lots of other Denverites.” Expect an eclectic, yet cohesive mix of darkly-tinged nu-disco, indie dance, and weird house. Only $5 to dance dance dance.
