Friday, June 5, 2015 @ 5pm: First Friday at Infinite Monkey Theory

This First Friday, Infinite Monkey Theorem is teaming up with Larkburger to bring you an outdoor patio jammy jam.  $5 cans of adult juice, $5 burger and fries, with music from Foxfeather.  Artist Ashley Joon will also be doing a live painting and featuring her art throughout the winery.  No cover.

Friday, June 5, 2015 @ 5:30 – 7:30pm: Free Summer Lawn Concert: Dragondeer at the Clyfford Still Museum

Come celebrate summer in the city!  The Clyfford Still Museum and Swallow Hill Music are pleased to present a FREE summer lawn concert at the museum.  Bring a picnic or sample delicious foods from A Taste of the Philippines and peteybird ice cream sandwiches.  Baere Brewing Company will be on hand with cold beer to help you wash down the goodness.  Kicking off the summer concert series is Dragondeer!  Free music from 5:30 to 7:30pm; free museum admission from 5 to 8pm!  [Rain or shine!  If it rains, this ish will move inside the museum.]

Friday, June 5, 2015 @ 7pm – 12am: Denver Tool Library’s First Friday Rock Show at the Barker Lounge

The Denver Tool Library is officially having its official grand opening party this First Friday, and are feeling super lucky to have their favorite bands in all of Denver to celebrate – The Knew, Face Man and American Culture.  Boxwood Pinball will set up their beautiful handmade pinball tables for a tool-tastic tournament with worthy prizes from local businesses.  Food vendors will be slinging delicious eats in little paper boats and beer will be flowing like the new summer’s Platte.  FREE and fun!  [Due to inclement weather, this event is being moved indoors to the Barker Lounge.  Bring yo dogs!]

This First Friday visit YOUR community access television station for a live, intimate studio performance by Straight White Teeth and a joke-telling set by Aaron Urist.  Additionally, there will be FREE food from Illegal Pete’s and cheap drinks.  This event is FREE and open to the public.

The largest of all summer festivals in Denver, the People’s Fair began in 1971 and is sponsored by the Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods.  The festival features arts and crafts, live music, and food and drink vendors.  The fair is famous for bringing together a diverse population to celebrate community and the start of the summer festival season.  The Capitol Hill People’s Fair is happening from 10am – 8pm on Saturday and from 10am – 7pm on Sunday.  FREE.

Saturday, June 6 & Sunday, June 7, 2014: Denver Chalk Art Festival on Larimer Square

The Denver Chalk Art Festival on Larimer Square is a FREE two-day street-painting festival.  More than 200 artists spend hours the weekend turning the streets of Larimer Square into a museum of chalk art.  Artists, sponsors and spectators find it difficult to describe in words the splendid experience that Denver Chalk Art Festival creates.  Visitors can also enjoy live music, beer/wine tents, kids’ activities, and more.  The Denver Chalk Art Festival is happening from 10am – 10pm on Saturday and from 10am – 7pm on Sunday.  FREE.

Le Jardin Secret is not your average summer market.  At this French-inspired chefs’ market, foodies can shop for dairy, meat, bread, produce and other goods – all with a mimosa in hand.  Free parking is available on the top levels of the Larimer Square Garage (14th and Market Streets) during market hours to the first 40 customers.  Customers must ask for a validation pass from the Mile High Business Alliance representative at the Le Jardin Secret welcome booth.  FREE.

Family Saturday Workshop at the Dikeou Collection

Saturday, June 6, 2015 @ 12 – 4pm: Family Saturday Workshop at the Dikeou Collection

The Dikeou Family Workshops are a great way for people of all ages to learn more about contemporary art and experiment with new creative processes.  Workshops include a tutorial and presentation of the artwork highlighted that month.  This workshop will focus on artist Serge Onnen’s animations, as featured at the Dikeou Collection.  Participants will brainstorm an idea for a short animation that begins and ends the same way, which will be sketched on individual pieces of paper.  Each sketch is then photographed and compiled into an animation using computer software.  This workshop takes approximately 1.5 hours to complete.  This workshop is FREE to attend and no RSVP is required; drop-in anytime to participate.  Light refreshments will be provided.

What educational problem do you want to solve?  Pitch an idea to design new edtech and the top 4 ideas will win up to $20,000.  The night will be both fun and entertaining, as well as a great way to connect with other educational change agents.  The audience will vote for the top six ideas to move forward and judges will select the final four winners.  Food will be provided as well as games, music, and activities.  FREE and fun; all are welcome but attendees must RSVP.
