WEEKLY EVENTS: February 21, 2014 – February 27, 2014
Dear Denver, I never thought I’d say this, but my mood as of late can be summed up by the lyrics to this Huey Lewis & the News song:
I want a new drug
One that won’t make me sick
One that won’t make me crash my car
Or make me feel three feet thick
I want a new drug
One that won’t hurt my head
One that won’t make my mouth too dry
Or make my eyes too red
I’ll leave it at that. And now I’ll go drink a mother fucking smoothie. Xoxo.
(And as per youzh, check-out Westword’s 10 things to do for $10 in Denver blog for free/low-cost events this weekend.)

And now for a limited time only, if you become a Reel Social Club member, you will score an extra ticket to this event #hotdate

Well have no fear you crazy hipsters in love, this event is for you. “We decided that since none of the cool vendors ever participate in cheesy bridal expos, we would just put all of the cool kids together in one room,” says Tom Wright, whose company, Lovesick Inc., is behind today’s Lovesick: Denver 2014. Why is Forbidden Bingo so forbidden? ”There are two reasons,” notes Day-Glo-coiffed DJ Rockstar Aaron, who co-hosts the new game night at Maloney’s Tavern in LoDo with the inimitable Sid Pink as a sidekick. ”It’s the first bar bingo in LoDo, and the prizes are so naughty that some would say they are forbidden.” Rockstar, who’s already a bingo aficionado and therefore thought the game would be a good addition in the trendy downtown bar-and-club district, adds that half the prizes given out for the ten games are items from Denver smut shop Romantix (the rest involve free drinks). That should explain everything. $5 menu items, two-for-one drink specials, and FREE to play!
