WEEKLY EVENTS: December 26, 2014 – January 1, 2015
Denver! Last year I spent the first half of New Year’s Eve playing Scattergories in Vanessa Carlton’s apartment and the second half blacked out and possibly crying while jumping into anything that slightly resembled a taxi in New York City (those two events were unrelated, by the way). This year I may stay in with the lights off and the door locked until it’s all over but in case you are feeling more adventurous, peep the list of things to do below and have yourself a merry happy ending to 2014. XOXO.
(And as per youzh, check-out Westword’s 10 things to do for $10 in Denver blog for free/low-cost events this weekend, which includes a Gen-Xmas Party at Monkey Barrel and Dawn of the Shred at Lost Lake.)

FREE weekly film series that explores the New Wave movement. In the late 1950s, a radical move towards progressive, subversive, deconstructionist, and fiercely political cinema began. Filmmakers in countries from all over the world were trying to make sense of their post-war societies, widespread apathy, oppressive communist, socialist, and capitalist regimes and an overwhelming sense of melancholy. Birthed from this perfect storm of pain and confusion was a new kind of cinema yet unknown to the world. Come watch some lesser-seen films from this movement, while enjoying food and drink specials. This week’s film is The Third Generation.
