WEEKLY EVENTS: April 24, 2015 – April 30, 2015
Denver! Have you ever walked by a building or a house and been like, “I wanna get all up in that”? Well, this Saturday and Sunday, the Denver Architectural Foundation invites you to celebrate Denver’s unique architectural landscape by taking part in the 11th anniversary of Doors Open Denver. This FREE event gives you the opportunity to experience the built environment of 50 sites, and visit many buildings that are typically not open to the public. Learn more and see more of Denver.
Below is just a mere sampling of all the other cool stuff going on this week, so dress in layers, bring your umbrella, and go have some fun.

Friday, April 24 & Saturday, April 25, 2015: The Grawlix Ep. 46 with Kyle Kinane at the Bug Theatre
Super funny super team delivers stand-up, sketch comedy, and hilariously polished videos at the Bug. These shows will also serve as a send-off to the Grawlix boys before they head off to LA, where they will inevitably develop drug addictions and a penchant for roller-blading and beach volleyball. Come say your goodbyes/confess your undying loves! Both nights will be jammed with talent, including a whole slew of local funny peeps and classic Kyle Kinane. Doors at 10pm; show at 10:30pm. 10 bucks to get in; come early or be denied (and then what are you going to do, huh?)
Friday, April 24, 2015 @ 6pm – 12am: Friday Night Bazaar at 3530 Brighton Boulevard
From the folks that brought you TheBigWonderful comes the all-new Friday Night Bazaar. And if you haven’t been, you are seriously missing out. Imagine a festive farmhouse (at least that’s how it feels to me), filled with twinkling lights, delicious homemade food, craft beer and cocktails, artisan vendors, live music, and a food truck garden. Friday, April 24, 2015, doors at 7pm, show at 8pm: Uncalled Four at The Oriental Theater
Formerly known as Comics Against Civility, Uncalled Four is a hilariously inappropriate game played by four of Denver’s funniest comedians and YOU! Come watch comedians Christie Buchele, Greg Ellis, Derrick Rush, and Nora Lynch as they compete to see who is the funniest/most terrible contestant. Audience prizes include free Sexy Pizza gift cards, 420 prizes (with a 21+ ID), Illegal Pete’s burritos, free drinks, awful literature, and more! Doors open at 7pm and you must arrive early to win prizes! This is a $5 show with no drink minimums, although drinking is highly encouraged.

Saturday, April 25 & Sunday, April 26, 2015: 31 Hours of Myopia at the MCA Denver
MCA Denver is excited to announce the 31 Hours of Myopia, wherein the museum will remain open from 10am on Saturday until 5pm on Sunday. Come pay your respects to the Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia exhibit before it leaves on its national tour. Additionally, enjoy Skype bedtime stories with Mark Mothersbaugh, tarot card readings, 80s karaoke, breakfast burritos, a bloody mary bar, Pee-wee’s Playhouse marathon, final drumline, and more! Saturday, April 25, 2015 @ 10am – 5pm: Colorado Bike Expo at the Colorado Convention Center
In addition to nearly 100 exhibitors, the day’s events will include fun and engaging activities for all ages – cycling seminars, portable cooking demonstrations, adult Big Wheel races, bicycle ring toss, fix-a-flat competitions, bicycle-inspired sipping n’ painting classes, a kid’s zone, and more! To top it off, a beer garden and four local bands will keep the venue lively throughout the day. Buy your tickets for $10 in advance or $15 at the door. (Children 10 and under are free.) A portion of ticket proceeds will go to support bicycling advocacy organizations.

Get funky on the last Saturday of each month at Grandma’s House, with your host Mara Wiles. This month, enjoy the comedic stylings (with a twist) of Jordan Doll, Christie Buchele, Byron F. Saturday, April 25, 2015 @ 8pm: Service Stories at the 3 King’s Tavern
A brand-new storytelling show, all about doing something for others. Whether it be a tale about a nightmare brunch shift or a harrowing military experience, these stories will run the gamut of servitude. Ditch the limelight, forego the scene, and explore the delightfully dimly lit corners of your city. Weird Touch is a new(ish) all-vinyl dance party collaboration offering an eclectic, yet cohesive mix of darkly tinged nu-disco, indie dance, and weird house.
