WEEKLY EVENTS: October 2, 2015 – October 8, 2015
I just got back from an energy efficiency conference in Aspen and I am still reeling from all of the beauty. I stayed at Aspen Meadows Resort, which was absolutely gorgeous and not your typical mountain lodge. I would highly recommend it. I am a little brain-dead though so I will cut right to the chase: go have fun.

Friday, October 2 & Saturday, October 3, 2015: Night Bazaar at 2450 Larimer Street
From the folks that brought you TheBigWonderful comes the new & improved Night Bazaar! This time around, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy delicious homemade food, craft beer and cocktails, artisan vendors, soulful music, and a food truck garden on both Friday and Saturday nights, in a brand-new venue. Come shop, sip, and eat. No cover and a great way to start your weekend. The bazaar is open on Fridays from 5pm – 2am and on Saturdays from 5pm – midnight.
Friday, October 2, 2015 @ 6 – 10pm: DiversiTEE: A Screenprint Art Exhibit of T-Shirts and Fabric at Ink Lounge
A wearable exhibit, the participating artists use fabric as their medium to create designs that are whimsical, typographic, local, and/or outdoorsy. Each artist will have a limited run of his/her design for purchase. Drinks will be provided; FREE.
Friday, October 2, 2015, doors at 7pm, show at 8pm: Open Music Sessions w/ Pretty Mouth at Denver Open Media (DOM)
This First Friday, visit YOUR community access television station for a live, intimate studio performance by PrettyMouth and a joke-telling set by Timmi Lasley. Additionally, there will be FREE food from Illegal Pete’s and cheap drinks. Haaaaaaaaay. This event is FREE and located along the Santa Fe First Friday Art Walk.
Friday, October 2, 2015 @ 8pm: Comedy Night at Zephyr Brewing Company
FREE comedy show + craft beer. This month’s comedians include Aaron Urist, Zac Maas, Michael Karlik,Cody Spyker, Jacob Rupp, and Kevin Klatman. Come try the beer fudge popsicle and stay for jokes about the beer fudge popsicle!

Celebrating Lakewood’s agricultural heritage with an entertaining mix of live performances, activities, and tasty harvest treats for the entire family. This year’s event includes tractor pulls, face painting, bounce house, magic show, pie-eating contest, apple pressing, apple cider by the glass or gallon, and a hard cider tasting garden on Sunday. Saturday, October 3, 2015 @ 8am – 12pm: Cereal Saturday: Pilot Project at the Denver Central Library
How does a morning of cereal, cartoons, and homework help sound? That’s right, the Denver Public Library is hosting this pilot event for both kids and grown-ups alike. They’ll be offering a full-on cereal bar, complete with your nostalgic faves, and a showcase of some of the most memorable cartoons. Their reference librarians will also be on-hand to assist with homework and projects. It truly is fun for the whole family! FREE.

The Stompin’ Ground Games are a year-long neighborhood Olympics where arts, culture, and history collide in the name of civic pride. This series will focus on a different neighborhood each month and guests will be entertained by the finest artists and cultural groups that community has to offer. Additionally, participants will learn crucial history about the neighborhood, as well as current issues affecting the areas and ways to take action for change. Food trucks, childcare, English/Spanish translation, and kids’ activities will round out the event. $5 suggested donation, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
