WEEKLY EVENTS: February 28, 2014 – March 6, 2014
Holy crap, I can’t believe that tomorrow is March. How is your 2014 going so far people?
Mine is pretty good. But one thing that would make it even better [brace yourself for shameless begging] is if you told your friends about Dear Denver! And even better yet, have them follow my every move on the Facebook and the Twitter net. You know, stalker-style. That way everyone gets invited to the party. (Except for maybe that one guy I saw on the bus yesterday. Actually let’s not tell him; he was CREEP-PEE.)
Peep the list below for some funny, raw, vegan, horrific, and Shakespearean events, and you Denver…I’ll see you round the way…
(And as per youzh, check-out Westword’s 10 things to do for $10 in Denver blog for free/low-cost events this weekend.)
Friday, February 28 & Saturday, March 1, 2014 @ 9:30pm: Mile High Sci Fi Presents: The Fifth Element at the SIE FilmCenter
The premise behind Mile High Sci Fi is that a really bad movie is shown and local comedians make fun of it, a la MST300. The humor is clever and inappropriate, with some of the greatest audio gags I’ve ever heard [insert boner noise here]. Come check-out this weekend’s rendition of The Fifth Element! 9:30pm both nights; tickets run $7 – $10.

Illegal Pete’s has been an ongoing community supporter here in Denver for years now. One could even say that they help make-up the cultural fabric of Colorado. And this Sunday, if you come to any of the Illegal Pete’s location repping something Colorado-related (sports, cities, bands, colleges, etc.) and you purchase an adult entree, you will receive a FREE order of chips and queso – what? what? And if you take a photo of your CO-inspired gear, hashtag it with #303day and they will pick a few winners who will win Illegal Pete’s gift certificates.
