Friday, February 6, 2015 @ 6 – 8pm: Black Sheep Fridays at the MCA Denver

Mixing hip with the weird, Black Sheep Fridays runs weekly January 23 to March 27, from 6 – 8pm in the MCA Café.  Visitors can stop by anytime during the evening to experience the fun (happy hour runs from 5 – 7pm).  This week’s theme is a Dear Diary Open Mic.  Read or re-invent your teenage journal with My Teenage Angst.  Free for members, $5 for regular people.

Friday, February 6, 2015 @ 6 – 9:30pm: Lindy Hop & Libations at the Infinite Monkey Theorem

Swingin’ Denver and the Infinite Monkey Theorem will be offering a night of FREE swing dance lessons, live music from Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles Jazz Band, and vino set against the backdrop of RiNo’s First Friday Art Walk.  Come learn some steps while you have some sips at Denver’s hippest urban winery.  No cover.

This First Friday visit YOUR community access television station for a live, intimate studio performance by Ian Cooke and a joke-telling set by Zach Reinert.  Additionally, there will be FREE food from Illegal Pete’s and cheap drinks.  This event is FREE and open to the public.

Saturday, February 7, 2015 @ 5pm & 8pm: 10th Annual Drag Queen Bingo Fundraiser at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret

A rollicking night of hilarious drag queen bingo to benefit the Rocky Mountain MS Center.  There will be cocktails, laughs, and of course, bingo!  Prizes include gift cards to restaurants and shops, sporting goods paraphernalia, assorted gift baskets, and other prizes that include dinner and a lovely hotel stay downtown.  And it’s for a great cause!  Session 1 is at 5pm; Session 2 is at 8pm.  Tickets are $35 and going fast!  Feel free to glam it up or come as you are.

One night only – nominated for the Best Documentary Feature Oscar!  During the chaotic final weeks of the Vietnam War, the North Vietnamese Army closes in on Saigon as the panicked South Vietnamese people desperately attempt to escape.  On the ground, American soldiers and diplomats confront the same moral quandary: whether to obey White House orders to evacuate U.S. citizens only–or to risk treason and save the lives of as many South Vietnamese citizens as they can.  Tickets run $7 – $10.

In conjunction with the exhibition, Constructed Histories at David B.
