My friend Javier once said, “You must respect the UMS”, a statement both simple and powerful in its meaning.
The 15th annual Underground Music Showcase (UMS) rolled into town this past weekend, once again leaving a trail of rock ‘n’ roll stances, beer-soaked hair, perma-grins, day parties, dirty feet, forgotten credit cards, old pals, new friends, drunken bro hugs, pizza crusts, empty bowls of Loko Moko, and an obscene amount of air humping in its wake. If you were there, you’re probably still licking your wounds, but also basking in the renewed appreciation that we all get to call this amazing fucking city our home.
