It’s the last pool party of the season! A celebratory reduced $5 entrance fee gets you access to free drinks, food, pool times, music by Simone Says, napkins, unicorns, and magic.

Friday, August 28, 2015 @ 6 – 8pm: B-Side Music Fridays w/ The Milk Blossoms & Tyler Lee Holter at the MCA Denver

B-Side Music Fridays is a live music series where guests can enjoy an intimate rooftop performance by Denver’s top indie musicians, craft cocktail in hand. Tonight’s (and the season’s last) performance will feature The Milk Blossoms and Tyler Lee Holter. Happy hour from 5 – 7pm; live music from 6 – 8pm. Free for MCA members; $5 for regular people.

Friday, August 28, 2015, doors at 6:30pm: Kissing Party at Black Shirt Brewing Co.

Come check-out Black Shirt’s new(ish) outdoor stage, sip on some red brews, and enjoy a live performance by Kissing Party. Pile High Burgers will also be on-site to keep you from getting hungry. Tickets are only $5 and this show is all ages – woot!

The Historic Elitch Gardens Theatre is kicking off a new indoor classic movie series, starting tonight with Spaceballs. The film will be complemented by a live radio show before the screening and a talkback with Jim J. Come join this Kickstarter-funded project, which takes the idea of “trash” and turns it on its head. This family-friendly festival includes live music, a pallet maze, an upcycled fashion show, parkour demonstrations, art, food, beer, kids’ activities, and sustainable ideas for your home/garden. I visit a lot of breweries and have to say that Wit’s End is one of the friendliest in town! There will be raffles and giveaways throughout the day and Basic Kneads Pizza and The Cluck Truck will be on-site to keep you from getting hungry.

Cats are back! Curated, compiled, and edited by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, the Internet Cat Video Festival has been lauded by NPR, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more! This new reel will feature approximately 100 cat videos culled from nominations by the public in the categories of Comedy, Drama, Animated, Musical, Action, Vintage, and Documentary. Tickets run $7 – $11.

Wednesday, September 2, 2015 @ 6:30pm: Local Stand-Up Night at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design (RMCAD)

Hosted by comedian Byron Graham, this event features stand-up sets by Hippieman, Christie Buchele, Zac Maas, Jordan Wieleba, and Kevin Klatman.
