Friday, March 6, 2015 @ 5 – 8pm: Black Sheep Fridays at the MCA Denver
Mixing hip with the weird, Black Sheep Fridays runs weekly January 23 to March 27 in the MCA Café. This week’s theme is A Wes Anderson Purim: Dress as a Wes Anderson movie character and eat hamantaschen. Visitors can stop by anytime during the evening to experience the fun. Happy hour with a Wes Anderson film is from 5 – 7pm; live music from 7 – 9pm. Free for members, $5 for regular people.
Friday, March 6, 2015 @ 6 – 9pm: Wandertrees, New Works by Wendy Harriman at Fancy Tiger Clothing
Wendy Harriman is an artist inspired by her surroundings. Harriman’s Wandertrees are natural wall hangings that integrate found pieces from nature with fibers and suede to create one of a kind works that bring a modern bohemian feel to any environment. The opening reception for this exhibit will be held this Friday and will be on view through Sunday, April 26th. FREE. Learn more about the artist here.

In collaboration with the Underground Music Showcase, MCA Denver presents a concert of Denver-area musicians performing music inspired by the art and music of Mark Mothersbaugh, with Mothersbaugh himself as featured guest. Sunday, March 8, 2015 @ 10:30am: Denver Peanut Butter Plan at The Garden
The Peanut Butter Plan is simple: community members help make PBJs and then they pass them out to people in need in the downtown Denver area. Everyone is invited to step out of their comfort zone and make a difference to hundreds and even thousands of people. Each Peanut Butter Plan participant is asked to donate one jar of peanut butter and one jar of jelly, plus two or more loafs of bread. After the sandwiches are made, groups will carpool to the Denver Rescue Mission neighborhood and hand out the sandwiches. Any leftover food will be donated to other agencies in need #DoGood
